If you follow me on Twitter, you know how I dread when suspects ignore police officer warnings to “come out now or I will release the dog and he will bite you”. More often than not, the suspect decides to stay put, the K9 officer does find them, the suspect then decides to make a run for it, and the dog does bite them. Due to the unique nature of Sonitrol Pacific’s audio sensor based security, once the incident is over, I have a recording of the break-in, the police warning, and the suspect screaming when the dog bites.

Despite my aversion to hearing the normal human response to being bitten by a dog, I think the police dogs do an amazing job.

I was saddened to receive the press release from the Portland Police Bureau announcing the passing of K9 Officer Xwodin Von Haus Antuerpa.
