Minta Christopherson received the Employee of the Quarter award for the second quarter of 2010 at our July 19 Jazz Session.

Minta earned this honor because she thrives on new professional challenges, routinely asks for more projects, seeks training opportunities, and produces excellent work.  She is an excellent operator and a respected member of the Sound Security team.

Minta is now eligible for our Employee of the Year award.  The Board will choose employee of the year between Shannon Summers (employee of the first quarter), Minta and the employees of the third and fourth quarters.

Gerber Collision + Sonitrol Pacific = ‘great decision’

July 22nd, 2010 by Pamela Singleton No comments »

July 3, Tacoma Police arrested one man suspected of breaking into vehicles in the Gerber Collision yard after Operator Mike Young saw the man on our monitored security camera system. Today, we received this thank you note from General Manager Jody Durant.

“Four years ago, Gerber Collision Tacoma signed up with Sonitrol Pacific.  It was a great decision!  Sonitrol Pacific employees have been quick to respond to all our requests.  On one occasion, they came to fix a problem with our outside cameras before we knew there was a problem.  Sonitrol Pacific technicians and customer service provided solutions when the system was not doing what we wanted it to do, and because of their Commitment to Service guarantee, we did not receive a bill or an increase in our monthly charges.

Just about 6 months ago, intruders broke into our secure customer storage lot.  Sonitrol Pacific’s operators saw the guys on our outdoor monitored camera system rummaging through parked cars and dispatched the police quickly!  The police gave chase and after stopping 2 men a couple blocks away, they were let go with no charges.

Last Saturday night, Sonitrol Pacific dispatchers saw a man on our monitored camera system breaking into a car in the secured lot.  This time the police were able to get here in time to catch the guy in the act and arrest him.  All the items were recovered and the damage was minimal because the police showed up quickly.

I could have come to work to find a major loss with just a video to show me what happened over the weekend, instead Sonitrol Pacific’s operators were monitoring our cameras live and were able to tell the police exactly how many people were there and what they were doing.  I would recommend this company to anyone looking for building security or a camera system.  This is an invaluable investment.

Everyone wins with GS2

Benjamin Canales, Sontirol Pacific Tacoma Security Consultant, had us all cheering this morning with the news of a new Good Stuff Squared (GS2) client.

We provide home security for John and Connie and they’ve referred two of their neighbors to us.  Each time they send a new client our way, they ask we give their $200 GS2 donation to the Lakewood Police Independent Guild.  We are thrilled to do so.

The LPIG Charitable Fund has deposited $2,129,968.42 into the Lakewood Fallen Four Officers Children’s Trust Fund.

More GS2 donations

July 12th, 2010 by Pamela Singleton No comments »

For every new customer people refer to Sonitrol Pacific, we donate $200 to the non profit organization of their choosing through our GS2 program.  Dick Chase, Everett Security Consultant, sent me this email about our most recent donation.

“It was a dark and stormy night – no wait, different story …

I presented the Sonitrol Pacific security system to Dave Stewart of Vista Clara Coffee about a month ago. Dave was very impressed with our security system and decided to become a Sonitrol Pacific customer. When I signed him up, I asked him if he knew of anyone that could benefit from our services, and gave him a GS2 form. He referred me to John Hager of Collector’s Choice Restaurant. John was also impressed with our security system, and he is now a Sonitrol Pacific customer. Dave chose Everett Gospel Mission for his charitable donation.”

We are thrilled to send Everett Gospel Mission a check for $200.  Dave will receive a $200 “thank you” from us too.  Refer a new client to Sonitrol Pacific today and we’ll donate to your favorite charity as soon as your referral signs an agreement to join the Sonitrol Pacific family.

Warning of automated bank calls from Thurston Co Sheriff’s Department

June 22nd, 2010 by Pamela Singleton No comments »

From the Thurston County Sheriff’s Department:

Bank cardholders are being contacted by cell phone using various spoofed numbers, and are pre recorded messages stating that they are calling from your bank.

As of now, they have used Evergreen Direct Credit Union and Our Community Credit Union.  The message states that “their debit card has been deactivated due to a billing error”.  It then prompts the cardholders to enter their 16 digit debit card number and pin. After this information is entered it tells the cardholder that their account is now “activated”.

As a result, the cardholder’s account is accessed through ATM activity based in Spain.  Banks do not call you on your cell phone numbers or your home number and ask for your account information.  Even if you see a local phone number on the caller Id, it could be from any where in the world. Local numbers can be spoofed and some local numbers are being sold by phone companies to other persons around the world.  There are web sites that also allow callers to show any number on a caller Id that they want.

For more information on scam prevention, visit the US Federal Trade Commission website.
